The Art of Being a Friend

This is one of my favourite quotes about friendship.
Who or what is a 'friend' these days?
How do you define friendship in the age of globalisation and the Internet revolution?
Things are not as simple as they used to be...

Every friendship begins with a likenging of eachother and usually with a lot of laughs, yet from here to call somebody a true friend the road is long and sometimes very hard to go through, yet if one is constant and has a true wish to be a good friend...then it's all so worth it.
However,I also think that some peole, even though they are great and all,are meant to be in our lives just for a period and not till the end.We evolve,so we meet different people...of course there are the special ones who are meant to be with us for always :).

Jasmina, Emma and khawla thank you for your comments. Jasmina, you're right, friends don't always stay in our lives but God did bring them in our lives for a reason. And we can learn a lot from friends, even the not so good ones. At the end of the day, we always find out who our true friends are eventually =)

I personally believe mutual respect is an important aspect of any true friendship. You have to treat others the way you want to be treated.
