Style Sunday: The Drape Effect

I have lost count of the number of weddings I've attended this year. It seems Malaysians love to get married! That means there's a wedding almost every weekend and while it's good for us to wear our finest dresses more than once, it's also nice to appear with a fresh, new look every now and then. When I have a fashion emergency and need something pronto I turn to FashionValet.net. They're known for their speedy delivery (and not to mention, great selection of clothes for both men and women).

top: ZAWARA Devonna blouse in blue from FashionValet.net (worth every dollar at only RM 99!)
bottom: a baju kurung (traditional Malay dress) skirt
This blouse has draping on the front and it is ideal for hijabis and for women who want to be demure about their curves. In this ensemble I've belted the blouse but it looks perfectly nice on its own. To complete the outfit I paired it with an abstract print baju kurung skirt. Yes! Don't be afraid to be creative by mixing and matching a baju kurung skirt with a suitable top. The modern traditional look is very 'in' these days.

hijab: SugarScarf
To complement the blouse I've created the drape effect with my hijab which is from SugarScarf. It's one of my favourite hijab boutiques in town because I love their elegant and unique scarves. You can shop online but I personally prefer to stop by the boutique in Shah Alam and get first dibs on their latest hijabs and other items.

See those pink flowers hanging behind me in this photo? They're called Cambodian Princess flowers.

Cambodian Princess flowers are tropical blooms with an enticing scent.
If you're into flowers and gardens like I am, you should have this creeper plant in your garden!
It is always a delight to come home to these flowers.
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.
